Boxenvergärung mit innovativem Wärmekonzept

Am Standort der noch betriebenen Deponie Dörpen fällt nach 21 Jahren aktiver Deponieentgasung nur noch Gas mit verringertem CH₄ Gehalt an. Die Nutzung in einem angeschlossenen BHKW musste daher eingestellt werden. Derzeit wird auf dem Deponiestandort eine Boxenvergärungsanlage mit Intensiv- und Nachrotte errichtet. Der Eigenwärmebedarf der neuen Anlage wird durch thermische Verwertung des schwachen Deponiegases gedeckt. Im dazu eingesetzten E-Flox-Kessel kann Deponiegas mit bis zu nur 6 % CH₄ eingesetzt werden. Schwaches Deponiegas wird thermisch genutzt und gutes Biogas aus der neuen Boxenvergärungsanlage wird vollständig in einem neuen BHKW elektrisch und thermisch verwertet und der eingespeiste Strom gemäß EEG 2012 mit 16 Ct/KWh vergütet.

The waste management company of the administrative District “Emsland” in north western Germany operates a landfill site near the town of Dörpen. After 21 years of landfill gas extraction a decrease of its methane content is noticed leading to the termination of landfill gas use in conventional CHP plants. To implement the biomass concept adopted by the district’s political bodies a box fermentation plant is being built on the landfill site in combination with an aerobic treatment of the digestate. The available landfill gas with low methane content is used as fuel for the plant’s heating system. A FLOX burner, capable to utilize weak gases with up to only 6 % CH₄ was installed. While the weak landfill gas is now utilized for the plant’s thermal requirements, the produced biogas is used in a CHP plant in the town’s centre resulting in optimal thermal use combined with power feeding into the grid. The latter is remunerated according for the German Renewable Energy Law (EEG, 2012) with 16 cents/KWh.
